I Need Your Advice…

Posted by: Socrates Socratous on: Mar 29th, 2007

I am about to announce to you the launch of the
telecoaching program I mentioned to you yesterday.
However, I MUST hold it off for one more day.

I am a kind of confused right now in terms of
pricing, as I talked with a friend of mine, who
is also a top-notch marketer about what is a good
pricing for this FOUR-WEEK Intensive coaching
program.

When I mentioned about what I am going to cover.
He did NOT hesitate to tell me, “Socrates, you
MUST charge at least $4,997.00 for this.

“Are you CRAZY?” — I replied.

When he explained to me that I GIVE AWAY all my
knowledge
on how I get more than 2,500 unique
visitors per day
(and monetize hundreds of dollars)
on auto-pilot.

He told me that it is almost like I am giving away
the BLOOD of my business.

You see… He was RIGHT! When there are too many
people KNOWing about the Google Adwords Secret I am
about to reveal to you, it will be like I am creating
my own little monster.

I need your ADVICE!

Be very serious on this, ok?

Many of my friends told me that I should price
$4,997 for this FOUR-WEEK Intensive program. On
the other hand, I think it is NOT that reasonable
I want you to become successful.

On the other hand…

When I think about the time  (Twice a week) and
those SENSITIVE information that I am going to give
you for four weeks straight, I don’t want to
price it too low either. (It will be at least 10 hours of Live
fresh Content
)

This is WHY I want you to do me a big favor. I
need you to post a comment with what YOU personally
think I should be charging for this

Be very honest and be very truthful. Tell me
a reasonable price for this FOUR-WEEK coaching
program, where I anticipate to PUT YOU as my next success
story.

Partner to Your success
-Socrates socratous
P.S. I am postponing the launch till tomorrow 9:00am PST
until I read your comments. It is crucial that you comment
below right now…

I THINK YOU SHOULD CHARGE AT LEAST $3000.00 YOU ARE GIVING THEM YOUR LIVE LINE AND JUST THAT ALONE IS WORTH QUITE A BIT SO I HOPE THIS HELPS

  2. BusyBeeon 29 Mar 2007 at 8:52 am

I think if you are really sincere about helping, you will either give it away or offer an option to pay after it has made some money

  3. Steve Phillipson 29 Mar 2007 at 8:56 am

I would pay between $2,000 – $3,000. Perhaps, there might be an “early bird” incentive to sign up or allow automated payments or something to help ease the cash flow crunch. Of course, if your program REALLY works, then the money shouldn’t be a problem. Right?

  4. Royon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:04 am

    Socrates,

I am a customer of yours, have purchased ALL of your products, and continuing as a customer of yours.

If someone is that rich to be able to pay you $5,000 upfront, probably they don’t and won’t need your training.

Well, honestly, follow MF’s funnel of method and charge according to that schedule, if you think MF’s way of monetarization makes sense.

Personally, I won’t join your problem for charing USD5,000.

If I have USD5,000 to spare, I would spend 1.5k on MF’s BFM and 1.5 on TS, and may also consider purchasing a few other Gurus’ courses, and spending the rest on my $$ on some super Adwords course.

I am not to say, yours is not worth it, but it’s just too much to lay upfront, on 1 single course.

you offer a lot of information , and we all understand you sell information. But really ? great advertising, great autoresponders, high prices. you have taken a lot from the old masters from the tv era… c sheets, ect. but i have yet to see anything you do live. it has all been automated and autoresponders.

if what you teach is all that great there would be no poor folks left and all of the carlton sheets buyers would be billionaires.

    $ 19.99

and i am not interested at that price… i will wait for the cd to come out and get ut at a yard sale like i got mr sheets info..

  6. Jerryon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:06 am

I agree with BusyBee. I would love to learn how to make a lot more money, but I just can’t afford it, and its not a case of making a commitment financially to prove that you do want to succeed.

Perhaps a scheme whereby a percentage of your sales income would pay the fees. This the gives a commitment from both parties.

    Jerry

  7. Billon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:06 am

I told you once, quit smoking those funny cigarrettes.

First and foremost, why would anyone sell info that they are using to make money? Don’t even go to you want to help people – If that were true you would charge minimal price just to make sure the buyer was serious.

Second, if you’re doing so well why would you create competition? Just do what you do and don’t worry about pitching to others.

Plus, 10 hours would never be enough for some of these rookies to learn something as complex as Adwords. Sure the basics are simple but like chess, the real deal is far above most players.

The term coaching implies that the individual already has talent. You can coach someone all day and night but if they don’t have a base to build on you and them are wasting your time.

Don’t take me wrong, I like you and I think you’re a very smart and successful guy. But you’ve been hanging with the wrong folks lately and they’ve lead you down a bad path.

  8. Royon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:08 am

Forgot to mention, do I get a bonus for being a customer of yours for so long? lol (seriously though)

  9. Alberton 29 Mar 2007 at 9:11 am

I think $1,500-$2,500 is about right. or maybe
higher, you just need a irresistible offer!

    hope this helps!

  10. Sally Neillon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:13 am

I personally could not afford the price you are suggesting.

But I do realise if it was $10 or so, that too many people would discover your secrets and implement them.

You could maybe do an early bird bonus of the package at a reduced cost, get some testimonials from buyers and then add the comments to the sales page and up the price.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Sally 🙂

  11. Charlieon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:14 am

    Hi,

It is certainly brave and considerate of you to ask how much to charge. I, like most others, cannot afford $4997. Probably not even $997, maybe not even $197. While it would be fantastic if it was free, that is likely not in your best interest. As one other person commented, it would be nice if the cost was assessed only AFTER profit was made.

If something is free, many people will sign up, but few will follow through. You might be surprised how few will actually go to completion. Myself, if it was free, and I had the time to follow through to the end, I would gladly pay you $4997 if it put more than that into my bank account as profit.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

  12. David Asheon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:16 am

Sorry, i don’t have the time at the minute to spend 4 weeks on adwords training, too busy on getting sites up that sell goods.

But here’s the paradox: i’ve got to do an adwords campaign for them to drive customers to their site.

If you could summarise your tips into something that would take about 4 hours of my time and cost about $100 maybe i would consider it.

  13. Daveon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:17 am

Well i think you have all the awnsers above, i cetainly can not afford that sort of money.
I have invested in your MYDD, but still have not reeped any profits yet.
If i have to buy anything else its not for me.
My family and me are all but broke thats why i turned to this type of add.
Maybe i should count my blessings and give in now.
I thought you had so much cash you were givinig it away, no only joking, but if you have why do you want to charge.
They say nothing in this life is free.
Sorry they are wrong there are 2 things for sure, it cost nought to be born or to Die.

    Hello Socrates,
I am one of your fans, I think the first thing I ever bought online was one of your products.

We are all out here to make money, but I get so tired of seeing all these outragous prices on products, personaly it just turns me away and I’m sure it does alot of other folks too.

If you want to charge a crazy price, go ahead, that’s great. I won’t be attending. But, what about a smaller version for the little guy? or gal? Maybe a monthly plan for awhile?

People can be serious as all heck but if you haven’t got money like that, you haven’t got it. You know? I don’t which is why I’m here.

    Good Luck,
    Gloria

  15. Shaun Bairdon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:23 am

    Hi Socrates..

I would have said maybe charge $97 and limit the attendance figures.

    Good luck and god bless.

  16. Roberton 29 Mar 2007 at 9:27 am

If it is your secret of making money, keep it secret. Outsource and make more money. Why create competition? Just do what you do and keep to yourself.

If it is about genuinely trying to help, the priority should be reaching out to a lot of people – so give it away or make it really affordable for those who need your help most. Worrying about pitching to others your pricing would be the least you care.

    E’nuff said.

  17. Williamon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:50 am

I agree with your friends that as you are in effect giving away the meat and potatos of your business you would probably be remiss to let it go to cheaply and with that said $4,995.00 is logical.

However, If as I suspect you want to make this opportunity available to those who may not otherwise get a chance to really make money from Google adword secrets. Perhaps you could split the difference and offer the course at $2,497.50 and offer a payment schedule so that they could pay it off over say 12 months. That way you can seperate the whinners from those who genuinely want to start a successful business and are willing to abide by your rules to get there.

In closing let me say that this is simply my opinion and for everyone else that reads this post. We all know that opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one and no one thinks their’s stinks. So, it is just my opinion do with it what you will 😉

  18. Tracyon 29 Mar 2007 at 9:52 am

    Hi Socrates

I’m sure your information will be top notch as usual, but as an inexperienced newbie, I am trying to sort the wood from the trees with all the emails I get re IM. I certainly couldn’t afford $4995 and am struggling to make ends meet at the mo, so I am out for a duck! Lol! But seriously, if you are REALLY giving away trade secrets, and many IM say the same but it is same old, same old, you would have to limit the amount of people who bought it, and I guess the high price tag would certainly do that!!!
    Good luck with it
    Tracy

  19. John Burnetteon 29 Mar 2007 at 10:00 am

    Hi Socrates,

Man, you have hit a hornet’s nest.

It does create a dilemma. I think the problem is you are attempting to come in on the tail end of “once bitten, twice shy”.

I don’t think it’s so much what you are offering, if the results are true (I’m not saying they aren’t).

I think the problem that is happening is too many people have bought into a lot of other high ticket courses only to fail. Some of their own doing I am sure, but either way, it has caused people to become a bit jaded.

I doubt that a lot of the people who want to succeed online are opposed to amking a financial commitment to doing so, but they have to draw the line at what cost.

I, for one, am not opposed to doing so, but am also in a mastermind group that is going down the tubes as I write. Well known marketer, big promises, yet the same result. I have not lost hope, but do have to be practical.

It will be interesting to see what you decide. At least don’t be shamed into doing what you don’t feel right with. At the end of the day, you are the only one who has to live with your descision.

  20. Kelon 29 Mar 2007 at 10:00 am

If I possessed of that kind of money, I might be doing something else right now.Whereas I highly respect your highly analytical and intelligent approach to online marketing, it is unthinkable for me to even consider such a price.

There ARE some of us who are actually poor, and are surviving on mere determination to succeed online.
You can offer options for the smaller man to pay reasonable instalments or give the info free through a special members’ site or such.

    Hey Man,

I think it is INSANE for you to do this
coaching program. In fact, as we chatted
yesterday, I think you should PRICE it at
    $9,997 or even $20,000.00.

Just keep it between you and me man!

Seriously, we make so much money on utilizing
the google adwords, and you want to teach
    that to your subscribers?

If you do, keep it as HIGH AS POSSIBLE! This
way we can have the secret stay underground
forever. (I am NOT joking, we worked VERY
HARD to become who we are today).

It is NOT an easy Journey when we are sleeping
ONLY 3 – 4 hours a day. Now, You just want
to tell others how to copy us? HUH!

    Dear Socrates,

i couldnt afford the price your suggesting, but i think that the price (4,997) is just fine if you are going to run the telecoaching program as a certification program, but if you are going just to run it like lessons i have to say you should have to split the price between the number of people you could teach per program ( 4997 / N = price).

personally i prefer the certification way, but for that you have to prepare it with documentacion, on field practice, teaching lessons, a testing site, tests , etc.

you could split the coaching in modules or levels so more people could join the program and then just get the suggested price for module or level , i.e. 10 modules(4997/10=499.70)

Im going to save some money for the next program, i dont think i could have it for this one 🙁

    Thanks,
    Rolando Lucio

thank you for posting your comments.

Why should I even bother when I already know
you are not serious enough to become successful

Folks, Time is the only thing we cannot get more
of. To me it is the most expensive thing.
I only use my time doing something of value.

So the value I will be getting out of this is the
success stories I will create. I will NOT
allow tirekickers and freebie seekers in
because they WILL NOT become successful and
that means I wasted my time.

why would you go around telling people your secret? do you really need competetion over this? it does not make sense but i think i have an idea on what you are doing to make this kind of money. i was skeptical it could be done but came across a ‘revelation’. it is now my ‘trade secret’ that others should find on their own. sorry but you would not want another dawson city on your hands during the gold rush.

  26. Toddon 29 Mar 2007 at 11:14 am

I would say $500 – $1000 which will weed out the tire kickers.

I would also give a money back guarantee if they did not make their money back within 6 months. After all you claim it only took 3 months to start generating over ten grand per month.

Anything over $1000 is just greedy. You obviously don’t need the money but it sounds like you really want to help others who are serious about succeeding.

Their testimonials will be worth much more then the money if you ever decide to release the information to everyone else at a lower price.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Since you are financially successful then teach others how to fish even if it means charging them some money for the lessons.

Just make sure your lessons are well worth the cost.

  27. SunStar Digitalon 29 Mar 2007 at 11:41 am

I think you should charge around $295.00 SOLID for your course. But you should also perhaps offer a Iron Clad Guarantee within a specific amount of time. A reasonable time that you can prove the profits and marketing techniques that you proclaim to have insight to. I have purchased a lot of your products and I say that you have helped a lot. So, I am willing to bet that you will have good solid advice and information. But, honestly, NOBODY especially marketing guru’s such as yourself would GIVE away the blood and backbone of your resources. Who are we kidding? I do however, think you will give very very valuable tips, information, and resources. But certainly not your favorites lol.

    Have a great weekend Socrates!

  28. Alon 29 Mar 2007 at 11:45 am

Hi Socrates, I’ve been using your ideas and tools for a couple of years and make a few $ each month. My concern is the time I would need to commit.

I’m holding down a day job to feed the wife and 3 kids, pay the mortgage etc etc, so time is very precious to try and spend with the family and online.

I’m also in the UK so in US time I’m either at work or asleep!!

How about launching the program as a downloadable pod cast with a support forum for questions and follow ups???

I know I’d pay something like $195 for this.

    Regards,

    Al

  29. Rondelleon 29 Mar 2007 at 12:13 pm

    This is troubling…

So are those that are just starting out with limited funds considered tire kickers, freebie seekers and negative people?

In one sentence you are saying that passionate and positive people are “welcome” but the overall tone of your email implies that we need to mortgage the house to be considered a positive and passionate person.

I don’t think anyone here was looking to get something for free. Of course you should be rewarded for your efforts. There are many ways to be rewarded though. A lot of the big wig marketers, and I don’t know if you would include yourself in that group yet, just demand huge sums of money from the thousands of desperate people that are searching online for a way to improve their lives. It’s reaching greedy new heights every month and it’s sickening.

Without a doubt, hard work and dedication and a lot of time and searching can lead people to making some money online. But for the person that is holding down two jobs and needing to put food on the table while worrying about foreclosure or even the average joe that is making a meager living in a dead end job, how long do you think it will take before they learn anything that is profitable?

There is such a huge learning curve to the internet marketing game when you come from a situationlike the ones described above.

Learning to do what you claim you know would be akin to winning the lottery for people in need. Even just an extra thousand bucks a month for most people is LIFE CHANGING.

You have an incredible amount of power if you can teach average people to make money online.

I think the majority of people looking to make money online are doing so because of financial pain in their lives. They’re hurting and they need help. If you claim you can lead someone step by step to profitability then you are in such a blessed position to do some true good in the world.

Yeah, charging thousands of dollars to teach people to do this will make a few people that already have money a whole lot more money.

Wow. Same old story. Another product launch comes and goes and the rich get richer.

But what about giving yourself some spiritual rewards? What about helping people that are truly in need? Teaching average people how to make some extra mortgage money?

That would be a refreshing story to hear about.

Do I think your course should be free? No, but I think that you are in a wonderful position to help people that really need it by offering it for a reasonable cost…

    You could change people’s lives.

  30. Evert DuToiton 29 Mar 2007 at 3:06 pm

I’m with the other people that says that your payment should be linked to my success for following your advice. If you are so confident that your product or coaching can make people money, have people make an initial investment that is affordable, and then a percentage of profit up to whatever price you set, $5000 or $1000 or whatever.

That way you show that you are also committed to the success of your customers and not just grabbing their money like most online marketers. You get paid when your customers are successful, it takes commitment from both parties.

    Evert

  31. Frankon 29 Mar 2007 at 3:53 pm

Based on what I have read and purchased in the past from other online networks I think a price of $197.00 is a reasonable projection, though if it really contains material elements to online success (and can perhaps be payed for in 2 or 3 instalments), the amount of $297.00 feels right to me.

  32. John-Paulon 29 Mar 2007 at 3:57 pm

    Hi Socrates,
I don’t want to make this more complicated, but the problem is not just about the money – it’s also about the level of knowledge already attained and the relative benefit for different subscribers.

Have you considered three different courses, at three different prices? Or, perhaps easier for you – three different progressions during the entire single course. Beginners in the tens of thousands could pay a reduced priced (say $49 or whatever)for the first two sessions; those who saw the value in doing more serious work could pay a substantially larger amount for the next three sessions; then the graduate school of the next five sessions would cost much more to those who are already familiar with all the basics and who are probably already making good money. From a marketing point of view, the total package would cost less than the three parts bought individually. Helps? Best, JP

  33. Jesse Trocheon 29 Mar 2007 at 4:54 pm

    Hi Bro,

Your a great guy and you have helped me and thats just your nature but free NAAA i dont think so..

What i do think is multiple payment will help and maybe extending the time to more weeks than 4 …

1 would help with learning curve for beginers and

2 will help weed out those who its not for… and you cant tell who they are but at least they can find out for them selfs and you wont be accused of any negative stuff and i know your stuff is hot so you should have no problem.

And 3 will help those that want it but are strapped with cash… and atleast they can start to make some money right away but of course your not going to give all your secrets away up in the begining but bring them up to speed slowly with a good learning curve and give them time to learn take it in and move up to more of your secrets in the more advanced big money teachings in the later weeks …

Theres more but i emailed you the rest and you have my number… so give me a call and lets do The Vulcan Mind Melt Thing…

    Later

    Hi Socrates,
I would pay the $4,997 price if it was for one on one coaching. In fact I just hired a coach at a higher rate. Too bad you didn’t connect with me two weeks ago. I am serious about learning this business and willing to pay to shorten the learning curve. The coaching I signed up for is giving me two 1 hour calls twice a week for 9 weeks. Or I could do it at 1 call a week for 18 weeks but I chose to put in more hours in a shorter amount of time. They will be teaching me everything I need to know about the ebook affiliate marketing business from start to finish. Plus it includes some programs I will need.

My point is that there are people out there that will be willing to pay your price but they might want the personal or private lessons. At one hour a week you could take on ten students and do pretty good for your self while helping others.

I’m interested in seeing how this works out for you. Keep me posted.

  35. PJon 29 Mar 2007 at 6:42 pm

    Hi Socrates.
I’m a satisfied MyDD user. As a business woman, I’d say put a reasonable price on it ($197.00 minimum). As for max??? As an individual who’s budget has no room for any purchases for at least two weeks, I’m sooo wishing I hadn’t even opened your email. Then I wouldn’t know what I was missing!

If you’re interested in interviewing a hardworking apprentice who will be accountable, online, in front of all the tire kickers, and would sign an agreement to split proceeds until your fee is paid, count me in.

While I do believe in honest pay and that real products and real knowledge should never be low balled, there’s something about Henry’s pricing process that bothers me. It sounds like a way to keep the poor poor and only put knowledge in the hands of the elite.

  36. Barbara Wilsonon 30 Mar 2007 at 9:33 am

$4,997 for this FOUR-WEEK Intensive program?

This sounds very reasonable to me. People pay upwards of $60,000 for a college degree that doesn’t make them any money at all. Since this should allow you to make money on a residual level for life -well that makes the almost $5,000 kind of low.

I note that it is a four week program and if a person had to fly somewhere and spend four weeks in an extended stay hotel situation and rent a car the fees for travel alone would top $4,997.

By charging the fair price of $4,997 you will eliminate the people who do not take their business and their investments seriously. Thus the people who do view your information will implement the lessons and be very happy when they can share their success with others.

    Barb

You actually priced it way lower than I thought you would. Kudos for you Socrates!

    You Rock!

Thank you for the invaluable information, it truly is priceless. I am clearly looking forward to learning more!

  38. Rbradyon 08 Jul 2007 at 9:22 pm

This post reminds me that while many successful marketers have a desire to help the newcomers, they also have to pay the bills. Giving large amounts of information away at no cost is simply not good business. I can’t afford the typical ebooks prices or coaching/mentoring but I’m still building a library of resale rights products from giveaways and dimesale type offers. As the saying goes, “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”. So when you’re ready for the training it will be available at a price you can afford.
Thank you Socrates for the secrets you’ve given away in your teleseminars.
