76.47% Conversion Rate – PROOF – List Building Experiment

Posted by: Socrates Socratous on: Dec 7th, 2007

Holy Cr**, It WORKS!

A few weeks ago I blogged about
an amazing new simple software
called Boomerang List Builder.

Since I dont like to just “talk”
but to take action, I took that
software and run an experiment.

What I found out literally
knocked my eyeballs out of
their socket!

I was IMPRESSED!

  • It Works Better than I thought
  • It Builds Huge Lists
  • It Breaks Opt-in Rate Records

All I did is this:

1. I took 2 PLR products and locked them
with Boomerang List Builder

2.
I put them online and let people
download them freely
(IMPORTNAT: NO Squeeze page was used)

[Tip: You can sell these on eBay with
master resell rights and get other
people to distribute them for you]

3. Waited a few days

4. Beat my self up for not doing this
earlier

5. Laugh my A** off, thinking about how
many more subscribers I ll be getting
in 2008 🙂

6. Giving YOU a chance to get in on this
by showing you my RESULTS!

In just 9 Days:

from Nov 28 – Dec 7 (today)

Let me show you what happened:

–> 76.47% Optin Rate

Over 75% of the people that downloaded the
program for free, Opted in to get the unlock
code (no further convincing or complicated
copywriting tricks were used)

[see screenshot of my tracking system]
track-boom.jpg

–> Added 584 New subscribers added to my list.

Now let me tell you, most people will be
happy with 3 new subscribers a day.
65 Subscribers a Day is pretty darn good.

(and that’s just with 2 products. Wait until
I add 100)

[screenshot from my aweber account for this list]

aweber-boom.jpg

oh, I forgot to add Step # 7.
7. Everyone that opts in to get the unlock code,
is immediately sent to an affiliate link
I randomly picked from Clickbank

—> $166.01 in affiliate sales so far 🙂
that is over 350% Return on my Investment in
Boomerang list builder in just 9 days. (in fact
if you look closely it paid for itself by nov 30th
that is just 2 days in the experiment)

[Screenshot from my Clickbank account]

note: CODE1 or 2 is how I track sales from people
that got the unlock code

Plus, one of the products, pays a recurring
commission of another $15 every month (cool)

You want in?

As my Bonus, if you get Boomerang List Builder
I will give you a 1-month membership

    Hi guys,

    thanks for posting your comments.

Steve, it is all about creating a communication
channel between YOU and someone interested
in what you have to offer. In this case it
    is done through email.

Even though I only made 166 bucks on the
thank you page, remember, that is just
a bonus. The real money is to be made
emailing that list forever. In fact, now
that I know that statistic, lets do some
    math:

$166.01/584 subscribers =28.4 cents per subscriber

    28.4 * 75% optin rate = 21.3 cents per download

So for every download I make 21.3 cents
I CAN pay up to that amount to get
people to download my product and
STILL be building the list for free.

Terrance, thanks for stopping by. 404
subscribers in 12 hours is VERY good.

It SURE feels good to strike gold like
    this on occation 🙂

    Post your comments

    Regards

When you say that they were sent to a clickbank affiliate link, do you mean to the actual sales page or a thank you page that has the link?

  5. Socrates Socratouson 08 Dec 2007 at 8:14 am

    Hi Robert,

the thank you page opens the actual thank you
    page in a frame.
At the top I say thank you and tell them the
code was sent to the email and then
open the affiliate sales page right below that

    <--- thats a huge tip 😉

    Some questions:

    1. Did you change the sales pages and the ebook cover?

    2. Where did you get the PLR?

    3. How much did it cost you to setup this? Did you use feature upgrade?

    Thanks

    Hi Socrates, great time.

I’d like to know more about opening the Clickbank Page what do you use to choose the product?

How did you promote the PLR products?

Socrates you are right on the button with this one, and i cannot thank you enough for recommending this product back in November 2007.

Since then, I purchased a number of PLR ebooks change about 30% of the content of one of them, added my own name and cover graphics etc., and slapped it on Ebay.

At first I was a little dissapointed with the results, as i only sold 1 copy in the first 3 days………….then it started selling 1-3 copies a day, which still doesn’t sound that great, because, even if everyone registered the ebook to give me their opt-in details (and they didn’t) I still only had 16 added to my list after 32 days. At this point I lost interest, although i had already covered my initial expence on the product and made a profit (more details below), and swiftly moved on to the next project.

Now, please understand by this time i thought it was a failed experiment, as i did not announce or sell this $1.99 ebook anywhere else apart from a single listing on Ebay………but what happened next simply blew me away.

The ebook continued to sell on Ebay at a rate of 1-5 a day (and still does), low numbers i know, but things started to warm up , in fact they got so hot i thought Aweber must have got my list mixed up with someone elses.

In just over six and a half weeks i had a list of 642, yeah I know you can do the math and 46 days at a maximum of 5 opt-ins a day at 100% take up will only give you a maximum list of 230 subscribers………….. So what Happened ?……..

I included one vital ingredient to this ebook that made all the difference ! “MASTER RESALE RIGHTS”

Simply by allowing the buyer master resale rights, this ebook went viral(OH, and BTW, it is nothing to do with IM), and that as you may know, is the key to selling ebooks on Ebay.

If i could have given it away i would have, or even sell it for $0.01 (dont’ do it, you’ll get your account suspended) because i know just how quickly you can build a list and make money, using this method with boomeranglist builder, not on the selling of ebooks, but with the back end sales by promoting your other higher priced premium products, or promoting items from clickbank using affiliate links.

Either way it works, it builds lists quickly, and more importantly, you’ll make money…….

Very Recently, there has been a good deal of litigation by the
FTC against blogs and website developers
for not revealing advertising income, or potential
    connections with ad networks.

What are your personal ideas concerning how this could hurt
    the blog community?
