Subscriber Question: 1 Cent Auctions on eBay

Posted by: Socrates Socratous on: May 19th, 2006

Question:

Socrates, I have a question. Those 1 cent sales on eBay–most of those are to capture email addresses, yes? Many have to be prequalified to bid? Is that what I’m seeing on those? Does it work? Regards, Chris

Answer:

Hello Chris,

There are different reasons for the 1 cent auctions,
mainly to capture leads, but also to get feetback and
generate more traffic to their more expensive auctions.
Also, Prequalifying them just sends them to the store item
which costs less to list, while the main item stays active
for 7 or 10 days.

HINT: READ the above 5 more times to unserstand
it very well. it is VERY Powerful

Having said that, I wouldn’t use 1 cent auctions.
I would go for 99 cents or more.
Actions that are borderline questionable by
ebay should be avoided in my opinion.

We want to build businesses. Not quick schemes.

Best Regards,
-Socrates
